Gîte la maronnière - 4 pers

Situated on a 20-acre site, you have the use of one of two renovated gîtes in the courtyard of our house. You can explore the surrounding area which is home to many birds and wildlife.

At the bottom of the lane is the centre of Challignac, a small village surrounded by vineyards.

Challignac is a 10-minute drive from Barbezieux, which has bakeries, restaurants, shops, a cinema, a château and supermarkets.

Just around the corner from the property is the town hall, where a pizza van visits on Friday evenings. There is also a bread machine about 2 km away in the neighbouring village of Berneuil.

There are many artisan producers and distilleries in the area.

For motor racing enthusiasts, we are about 30 minutes from the Circuit de Haute Saintonge where you can take part in track days for cars or motorbikes.

30 minutes from Cognac, Angoulême (which has a TGV link to Paris) and Auberterre-sur-Dronne, one of the most beautiful villages in France.

Challignac is 1 hour from Bordeaux and around 8 minutes from the N10 motorway.

Bordeaux has a park-and-ride system where the tramway takes you from one of the car parks to the city centre.
