Saint-Genis Church
Centuries later, time and wear and tear have considerably weakened the building. A large part of the roof collapsed in the 20th century, taking with it the Romanesque bell tower and the transepts. The monument was subsequently rebuilt, but its configuration was forever changed. Today it has a very simple rectangular plan with a bell tower-wall on the front. Its cemetery, which surrounds the building, has remained intact.
It is not yet known which saint gave his name to the church. It could be Genes, who died as a martyr in Rome in 286, or Genes of Fontenelle, a Saxon slave who became Queen of France when she married Clovis II.
