The church have small passages made in the arms of the transept to allow the nave and the sanctuary to communicate without having to cross the crossing of the transept, that are a curiosity.
In the sanctuary, the painted scenes that decorate the base of the cul-de-four vault are about the life of Christ. Above, one can still guess a Christ in majesty in a mandorla, surrounded by four evangelists. In the crypt, a Crucifixion scene has been painted, whose pathetic and realistic quality contrasts with the solemnity of the scenes at the bedside: on a background dotted with flowers are depicted Christ on the dying cross, the Virgin Mary, St. John and the two thieves.
The crypt, an underground or semi-buried room located under the chevet of the church, appeared during the Romanesque period. In view of the growing fervor of the faithful for the relics of the Saints, their burials are exposed in the crypts for the eyes of pilgrims. This part of the churches then receives furniture and decoration as rich as those of the sanctuary. The celebration of the feast of the saints who are buried there gives place to important ceremonies.
