Eglise Notre-Dame de Cressac
However, it is important to note the presence of decorative arches on the sides of the bell tower. This breaks with the ordinary buttressed wall of the Romanesque façade. A similar bell tower can be found in nearby Porcheresse.
In the past, this church belonged to the collegiate chapter of Blanzac. It has the usual layout of Romanesque country churches. It has a single nave, a bay under the bell tower and a semi-circular chevet. Between 1889 and 1890, the vault of the nave was rebuilt in brick and in 1895, the sacristy was built.
Sculptures appear throughout the visit: masks, human or animal figures integrated into a plant decor.
