Village d'Aubeterrre-sur-Dronne

A ‘small town of character’, it has also been listed as one of the ‘most beautiful villages in France’ since 1993.

At its foot, the River Dronne provides a natural setting for a host of outdoor activities.
Its central square, lined with small shops, is a must for a break in the shade of the lime trees. It's a little paradise well known to the locals, who flock here on Sunday market days.

In Aubeterre-sur-Dronne, it would be a shame not to visit the village's hidden treasure, its underground church. Truly spectacular, it is the highest in Europe and is open to visitors every day. The church of Saint-Jacques with its beautiful façade and the various viewpoints in the upper part of the village are well worth a visit. Along the way, you'll come across boutiques and craft workshops.
