Before heading out into the rolling hills of the region, head to the village centre for an enchanting stroll through the white stone houses. Pass the village square and continue to the church of Saint-Jacques. A sumptuous 12th century Romanesque façade awaits you. Now the serious business begins! You arrive at the foot of the first difficulty of the route: the climb to the top of the village. The steep slopes of the town will give you a hard time. Go on to the next stage of the route, the village of Saint-Romain. Ride through the pretty little village and then into the forest. At this point, you are alone in the middle of nature, surrounded by oaks and conifers, without any noise pollution. Only the birdsong sets the pace and accompanies your journey. After completing a loop, you arrive at the end of the tour on the banks of the Dronne Valley. Slow down and take the time to contemplate the surroundings. You have just crossed the borders of a protected site, classified Natura 2000. Twenty protected species share this natural habitat. If you are lucky, you may spot an otter or a European mink.
