Arrive at the village of Saint-Martial, head for the church square, where a car park and picnic area await you. Take a seat on the grass, spread out your tablecloth and enjoy a tasty sandwich. You'll need your strength to tackle the hills of our regions! The presence of the church and the panorama in the background give the place a pleasant atmosphere. Take the road to the village of Les Essards. This village has a miraculous fountain which is said to have healed the wounds of a soldier in the past. Continue on your way and go around the Bois du Roi near Bonnes. A few hundred metres further on, you will pass along the private land of a ten-hectare truffle farm. This delicacy is mainly cultivated in the Périgord Noir, but you may come across a few farms in the Charentes. Their limestone soil makes the development of the mushroom particularly favourable. Cross the farm and walk to the end of the route to return to the village of Saint-Martial.
