Arrive at Saint-Quentin-de-Chalais. This village has a charming 12th century church overlooking the hill. It is recommended that you stop for a moment to admire its sculpted Romanesque facade, as well as its tabernacle classified as a "Monument Historique" located near the altar. Once you have visited the monument, go down to the village hall. A sheltered picnic area will allow you to regain your strength before starting the rest of the climb. Because believe us, the hardest part is yet to come! After swallowing the bumps, you will see the village of Les Essards in the distance! A fountain of healing, which is said to have healed the wounds of a wounded soldier. Is this a legend or a true story? In any case, a chapel was erected on the site of the fountain to pay tribute to this extraordinary episode. It is now time to return.
