After having passed in front of the inevitable Saint-Jacques d'Aubeterre-Sur-Dronne church and its sumptuous Romanesque facade, head for the first stage of the route, the village of Saint-Romain. Cross the village and, a few miles away, stop at the farm of the Fermiers Gastronomes for a tasting of their duck foie gras. These local producers have been raising, processing and selling ducks for three generations. Their know-how combines modernity and tradition to obtain subtle and delicate flavours. Enjoy your meal! Further on, in Bellon, you will retrace the first steps of Pierre Véry, a famous 20th century writer and scriptwriter from the village. You will find his birthplace, marked by an inscription on a plaque, at Chez Le Couret. If you haven't had time to eat yet, there is a picnic area behind Saint-Pierre church. You can enjoy your sandwich in front of a beautiful panorama. But beware! Beautiful, unobstructed views often mean a bit of elevation gain. Continue along the river Écrevansou and finally arrive in Laprade. The artist Manena Larrain will open the doors of her workshop for an exceptional visit and an initiation to the techniques of modelling and "Raku". You will experience moments of great creative intensity.
